Sunday's Farm Report!

My big excitement for the weekend was seeing JR Ward on Saturday. My two besties, Kel and Mel came with me. Here are some pics from our day out. After the signing, we had the opportunity to speak with JR's personal assistant. She was super nice and had lots of great advice for a newbie like me! :o)

Mel and I being awesome!

Wednesday's Works In Progress!

I created a file for all the WIP I have bouncing around in my head. I have outlines for three stories and one is almost finished. That one needs to be polished up with an edit before I submit it to Siren. Most of my ideas whisper when they come to me the first time. Then things start to change when they start fighting over who gets to go first.

Today, one of my heroines is talking to me. She wants me to hurry up and get her story finished. She's a virgin and the most impatient of my characters right now.

Temptation Tuesday!

My nine year old thinks he can fly. He loves to climb the crown molding around my door frames. Yesterday, he decided to take a flying leap off the stairs and grab for the crown molding at the bottom. Insert, shocked scream when he discovers that the little edge didn't hold, and he went flying down to the ground. Yes, the molding snaped from the wall. I don't know if I should be shocked or proud that firstly, he was able to grab the half inch edge or secondly, that he always seems to land on his feet like a cat.

Last week, my nine year old also wrote a time travel story...I'm really hoping my boys don't want to be writers when they grow up! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get at least one firefighter-medic out of them.

Monday's Daydreams!

I had a story idea whisper to me this morning. I'm not sure where or when I'm going to find the time to write this one. I have so many ideas crowding my head these days. I'm sure I'll figure something out. :o)

Have a great week!

Sunday's Farm Report!

I had a really fun day today. I was able to speak with fellow Siren authors, Susan Laine and Jennifer Denys via Skype. Jennifer will be coming to visit in October for four days. I'm really excited about meeting her in person. We've gotten to talk a lot via skype and email. It's going to be fun to show her around Cincinnati. Susan and I are also making plans to try to visit Jennifer next Summer in York. Before I can do any of this fun stuff, I really need to finish my edits for High Heat.

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

Coming Soon! My release date for High Heat is October 18th! This is Colin and Quinn's story. They first appeared in One Hot Night.

Fabulous Friday!

I had a dinner meeting with my bestie, Kelly, and my publicist, Melissa. Our waiter, James, will have a lead role in one of my new works. He was over six foot with dark hair shaved short and a voice to die for. He looked good in all black with his muscles stretching his shirt. We gave him lots of long looks as we fumbled over our menus. Yes, all thought left me as I was ordering my sides. It didn't help that we were all thinking of him with his shirt off, stretched across our table with some shots.

We chatted about James and lots of everything else as we ate. We didn't get to the work part until we were wrapping up for the night. That was fine with me. I needed the break. I've been editing for the last two weeks. Melissa gave me lots of ideas and work to do. That's her job as my publicist. I'm thinking she has earned a big bonus for Christmas.

Have a great weekend!

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I'm working on edits for High Heat! It's due to be released October 18! :D

Back Cover:

Late one night chef, Colin Andrews flips his car off the road into a stream. He is close to death when he’s saved by firefighter-medic Quinn “Cav” Cavanaugh, an ex coworker that could’ve been more. As Colin is pulled from the wreckage, he knows fate is giving him one last chance to have Cav.

Cav is back, and he’s not letting go of Colin. Yes, he walked away two years ago to become a firefighter-medic, but he’s not about to leave again. Cav is a Dom and always wanted Colin as his sub. Now, all he has to do is seduce Colin to his playroom without scaring him with the needs he has.

Colin has always longed to be a sub. Forced to dominate his kitchen, Colin wants to let go in the bedroom. Colin knows he can trust Cav with his body, but can he trust him with his heart too?

Monday's Daydreams!

Liar...liar...pants on fire.

My writing is often interupted when someone comes to the front door. Usually, it's a neighbor kid that wants to play with my kids. No big deal. Of course, there are those times when it's someone bringing me to Jesus. Today, it was a kid about 13. He was nervous as hell and twitching.

"I'm collecting for the Suburban Life for Kenny. He's out of town and he asked me to swing by to pick up the money," Twitchy says.

Yeah...right. I have this bridge I'd like to sell...

My response, "I'll pay Kenny when he comes back into town."

I shut the door and watched through the glass as twitchy runs down my front steps, across my driveway, darts across the street without looking, races down the block, and turns left where a friend is waiting for him.

For giggles, I called my neighbors on either side to ask if the "paper kid" tried to get their money for "Kenny." Nope. Just me. I thought about calling the local law, but that would be more time than I wanted to put into the entire ordeal.

Sunday's Farm Report!

Sometimes stories whisper and other times they shout at you for attention. Characters will tap on your shoulder when you're trying to edit. "Excuse me, I know you're busy right now, but I'm that hot cop you want to write about." I glance over at TJ...his shirt is off. He smells really good. His eyes grow heavy, but I know he doesn't have eyes for me. He's waiting for me to write his happily ever after with Parker.

Have a wonderful week! :D

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

I ran out of Kleenx yesterday. My hubby went on a Kleenx run for me this morning. I noticed he started with the sniffles last night. Uh-oh. "It's just allergies," he said. Yeah, that's what I said when this entire process started four days ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. I know how much this cold knocked me out of the game. I am feeling better today. I'm just feeling tired.

I'm almost finished with edits for High Heat. TJ's story is talking very loudly to me. I will be working on that today.

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I have a cold. I'm trying to shake it off. I don't want to be sick over the weekend. So, today I'm cuddling my pillows, two boxes of tissues, my coffee( I have to thank my hubby for making it for me! Thank you, babe! I love you for it!), my laptop, and a bottle of water.

Trust me, you don't want to be around me today! I may not even shower. :)

Wednesday's Word of The Day!

I'm half way through edits for High Heat. I'm excited! :o)

Where were you?

I was at home with my oldest son who just turned one when the attacks on the World Trade Center happened. I was feeding him when the second plane hit, and he saw it happen. He reached out his little hand toward the T.V. as though he understood that something terrible happened. I called my family that lived nearby, then packed up my things and drove to spend the day with them.

I will never forget.

Sunday's Farm Report!

I've been busy bunny proofing my office. Coco has been tasting the wires that slipped off my desk. One of those wires happened to be to my computer. So, I had to run out today to buy a new one.

I've made some changes to my blog today too. Christine Kirchoff made my banner for my blog and website. If you mention my name, she'll give you 10% off your new banner. I love her work! :D

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I started writing years ago for fun. I was workng as a social worker and taking care of my oldest son. Life changed with the addition of two more boys and the diagnoses of their autoimmune disorders. All three of my boys have it.

Writing became a lifeline for me. I needed a creative outlet that gave me something other than just dealing with medical stuff each day. Balance can be hard to find. You have to carve out time. You have to remember patience. There are times you need to pick one thing over another and be okay with the thing you gave up.

My contest for a chance to win a copy of Stolen Moment is open unil September 8th! Swing by Lea's blog for a chance to win!

Sunday's Farm Report

I met up with my publicist, Melissa, today for lunch. We reviewed what books I have in the works and my most recent release. We came up with a game plan. :) It wasn't all work and no play. We also had way too much fun shopping. Happy sigh.

Those blog/website changes are in the works. Stay tuned.
