He snapped his arm back, pulling her across his lap with an ease that showcased his strength. The horn honked when her backside slid against it. “If I let you go, I’d have to hunt you down again to do this.”

She gasped.

His mouth crushed against hers, taking, sexing her with the erotic edge of his tongue. Brine felt her pussy clench and his hand smooth down to squeeze her breast. His fingers pinched her pebbled nipple, pulling on it until shivers of desire quivered through her pussy. She fought with the cuff, but his hand was too powerful. His left hand tangled in her hair, wrapping the long, wet strands into his fists. He angled their heads to take her places she’d never been. He kissed her until she was dizzy, until she felt thoroughly owned.

Conquered and taken.

He nipped playfully at her love-swollen lips as he pulled away. She shuddered at the loss of erotic heat that she so desperately needed to live. How had she gone so long without?

She could see his want reflecting back. What was she doing? She had to get her senses back in check. Brine pressed her hands against his chest. She had to put a stop to this before it went any further. Erotic kisses were placed strategically over her ear. The heat of his breath seared her skin. Her eyes fluttered closed.

“I don’t want to do this with you,” she said.

“Yes you do.”

She squirmed. “I can’t.”

“You are.”

She tried to fight away, but he held strong.

“You have a strength that makes you the most stubborn woman I have ever met.”

“More reason for us to not fool around.”

“I think I made myself clear. I want you, and I plan on doing everything to have you.” He kissed the exposed skin on her breast. “I know you want me. Your heart beats wild for me. I can smell your sex readying. Your nipples are so fucking hard.”

He pinched and squeezed her aching flesh through the lace. She stifled a moan by biting her lower lip. “Because it’s cold.”

“It’s lust. You want what I have,” he countered. “We’re both adults. You can handle what I have.”

Brine felt the force of his cock pushing hard against the side of her thigh. She moaned as his hand smoothed down past her belly, to the crux of her thighs. The wedding dress was bunched up high. She’d lost one of her boots somewhere along the way. His hand pulled up the dress and found her silk panties. His hand seared as he cupped her thatch with his palm, moving his fingers around the thin barrier. Brine fought the urge to buck up into his hand as his fingers skimmed through her trimmed hair.

He could take but she wouldn’t give willingly.

She pushed against his chest, but it was useless fighting him. He was stronger and she was growing tired of the fight. He kissed her again in a long, lazy move to learn what she liked. His kiss was full of experience and longing. She never imagined that a man could be so thorough with his mouth.

He groaned as his fingers dove further through her folds and found her pussy weeping with forbidden desire. She bucked up hard from the sudden attention, making his finger push wildly inside. His thumb strummed her clit, causing her sensitive flesh to hum. Her hand gripped his wrist as he hammered her with sensations she’d never experienced before. Her legs fell open wider, giving more of herself over to his touch. She felt suddenly empty as his fingers pulled out of her pussy.

His hand twisted her panties around, positioning the fabric so that it slid up the crack of her ass. He rubbed, making her pussy quake with need. His thumb rolled her clit around in a tight circle that sent her body spiraling.

“Tell me you want me.”

She groaned. She wanted him, but she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of saying the words he wanted to hear.

He growled. “Tell me you want it hard and fast.”

Brine dug her nails into his wrist. She did want it. She wanted to fall from the edge he was dangling her off of, but she wouldn’t go like this. Not with a man she didn’t know taking more than she was willing to give. That thought taunted back like a boomerang. It was a lie. She wanted it hard and fast, slow and erotic. She wanted all of it with Thane, any way he was willing to give it to her.

Monday's Daydream...I was just holding my breath mom!

We're on vacation and we were swimming yesterday in the pool. Well, the guys were swimming and I was chilling on the side of the pool. My 9 y.o. decides to see how long he can hold his breath under water while doing body rolls as though he's drowning...really.

The pool was busy with no life guard on duty. My boys are excellent swimmers. They took intensive classes for the last four years over the summer and school year. I jump up from the side of the pool and run to the edge. Me and the peanut gallery think he's drowning two feet from the side of the pool. My first reaction...mind you this really happens within split seconds.

How? He's an excellent swimmer. He must have swallowed water. I yell for my husband who's a foot away in the water and start screaming for him to get Will. He looks around like what??? Why??? I've mentally prepared to start cpr when we pull him from the water...heimlich fist...they did that water study that says it clears the lungs...then start cpr...he hasn't been under more than a minute. He's still alive...

I'm about to jump in after him when Will pops up from the water...laughing! Ugh...me and the peanut gallery thought for sure he was drowning! Not good to freak out the parent with the heart problems.

Will really did feel bad about giving me a scare. He was only trying to see how long he could hold his breath.

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

I love chocolate. My favorite is dark with sea salt and almonds. That's a necessity when writing. I also love coffee in the morning and iced tea in the afternoon. Lunch is always at my computer. My cups have lids because I tend to spill. I always take a real break from writing at dinnertime or when my 5 yo insists that I play chef school with him. Right now...my 5 yo is jumping up and down. Gotta go...

STORY EXCERPT

She wanted the man’s attention but not like this.

Brine Torin just made the biggest mistake of her life and there was nothing she could do to take it back. Cold wind rippled through the tree line, causing her to shiver. The chains that locked her down to the giant sequoia rattled.

She’d been desperately foolish. Desperation could make a woman do some pretty reckless things. Strong, independent women didn’t do this type of thing. Not when they were thinking with the rational part of their brain, she reminded herself.

Oh, she was starting to feel the consequences of this bad decision. The jagged bark of the sequoia dug hard lines into Brine’s backside. She couldn’t remember the last time she had such a rough ride. She tried to get comfortable but the chain that held her wrists out to her sides had little give.

Lights flashed from the cop car in the hazy mist. She was about to be arrested. She was sure of it. She hadn’t planned on the cops being called in so soon.

She’d wanted a chance to talk to Thane Elam first. Flatbed semis snaked down the access road with tree remains stacked five high. The logger lifted his binoculars to the redwood and adjusted the scope. She blew him a taunting kiss.

The man had dodged her calls, e-mails and stalking visits to his office for weeks. It was now a matter of professional pride that she get this story to bed. The logger lowered the binoculars, for a second, to say something to the man next to him. Brine caught his profile and her heart did a nervous flip.

It was him.

Brine wrapped the cold chains around each wrist and set her long legs wide, ready for round one of the fight that was about to begin. She needed this story. She wanted it so bad she could taste it.

Bring. It. On.

Brine turned her gaze upward to the Oregon thunderstorm pushing through. It was a cold, tedious rain drizzling through the redwoods. Brine’s dark-blonde hair was plastered to her face. She had that Audrey Hepburn thing going on with her bangs today but that was where the resemblance ended. Brine was more voluptuous in ways that Hepburn never was.

She could just make out Thane’s sneer as he lifted the binoculars again. Too bad she had to ruin his day. Too bad he was ruining hers.

Brine wasn’t about to let the tyrant known as Elam Industries bully her around. Not when she had them by the chainsaw. For now.

She was going to get this story, even if she made a few mistakes to get it. This was probably by far the biggest, most impulsive mistake of her career. Investigative journalists didn’t chain themselves to redwoods to get the attention of a reluctant source. She knew things would never be the same. Now, there was nothing she could do to go back to change the last few hours of drunken irresponsibility that would ultimately tarnish her reputation.

Elam leaned his thick forearms onto the truck as though he had all the time in the world. Maybe he did but so did she. She could just imagine all the nasty things he was saying. He brought up his binoculars again, and she flipped him off with both hands. The cop didn’t look too happy about that one. What could she say? She had an attitude problem today. She was under a deadline. Elam said something to the logger, who shook his head no.

The logger pointed and zeroed in on her granddaddy’s gun. The 1640’s Blunderbuss wasn’t loaded, but he didn’t need to know that. At least, she didn’t think she loaded it. Her memory of last night was a little fuzzy. Yes, she’d needed a drink to stay warm and get the balls to have her coworker, Stephanie, chain her to the redwood. She thought about her granddaddy’s favorite saying about grabbing life by the horns. Well, she could grab the bull’s balls and the horns.

Elam fine-tuned the adjustment. A bottle of Glenlivet was half empty on the ground a few feet away. Now that was a mistake not worth making again. Brine glowered at the handcuff key bobbing in the bottle. She remembered dropping it in at the time, thinking it was the safest place to put it. She’d been wrong when the bottle tipped and rolled away.

Elam set the binoculars into the back of the truck and traded them for a set of bolt cutters. He headed her way. It was so on.

She wanted his attention. Now she had it. She could do this.

“I’ll be right back.” He called over his shoulder.

“That’s what they all say in the movies right before they bite it!” The logger beside the truck yelled through the ravine.

Elam spread his arrogant arms wide as though the world was his playground and everyone in it his playthings. “She’s not going to shoot me. The gun is out of reach!”

Yes it was, to her annoyance. Ancient redwoods towered. They shadowed Elam as he navigated the thick, earthy terrain. He maneuvered around the downed trunks with the athletic edge of a man that worked out. He approached her slowly, the way a man might approach a wild deer.

An earthy scent of forest and water clung to the ground. Brine inhaled the land deep into her lungs, praying for patience. To her right, the work crew smoked and watched her every move. They wanted to get paid, and she was in the way.

This story was too damn important to fuck up now. This was it. Her only chance to get Elam to talk to the media about the questionable land grabs their company was suddenly gobbling up.

He stopped several feet away.

The first thing she noticed about him was his thick thighs and predatory stare. She suspected he could ruin a virgin with a dirty look, and that girl would be willing to be ruined if it meant she had one wild night riding those thighs.

As he moved in closer, she noticed that Elam was bigger, harder than she expected. His face was rough with a scar slashing over his cheek. The scar knitted around the side of his cheek and disappeared around his neck.

Jet-black hair and hot-blue eyes whispered of an old-world Irish ancestry. Black eyebrows were bent down. His square jaw flexed in annoyance. He was intense and hard in a raw, manly way that left Brine feeling suddenly breathless.

He was gorgeous.

Wednesday's Blog Hop & Contest!

Welcome author Jennifer Denys! Jennifer is here to talk about her latest book Wife For Three!

Jennifer will be giving away a copy of Wife for Three, a sci-fi/futuristic menage, to the person who invents the best new flora or fauna for the colony planet the story is set on. She will also include it in a future story in the series! Leave a comment for a chance to win!

Over to you Jennifer...

Tell us about yourself.

I became an author for the first time last September, and I am still astonished that my stories keep being accepted! I am English writing for an American publisher (so it can be hard to get my head around Americanisms – for instance having to change ‘take-away’ to ‘take-out’), and I live in a beautiful historical city in the UK with my pet rabbit who is the dominant one in my household and is thoroughly spoilt.

Tell us about your latest book.

It is called Wife for Three and is my first sci-fi as well as my first ménage relationship (although I did have a ménage scene in another book). It is set on the planet of Duoterra after sixty years after it has been colonized. I loved rationalizing what would happen when the colonists ran out of the resources they brought with them – how would they make clothes, grow food and so on? So I have invented a native fruit called Plumapples and ground burrowing animals called Babbits!

In my story the colonists are realizing how few women they have left due to the hard life they have embarked on which means many women have died in childbirth or due to injury or disease and they don’t have the medical facilities that they had on Earth. In fact it has become something of a patriarchal society and the men have brought in a recent law that all women must be married by the age of 23 (an age the heroine, Brianna, is shortly to reach) and polygamous marriages are allowed. The uncle of the heroine wants to marry her off to a man she doesn’t want so she runs away to answer the advert of the Hollis brothers who are looking for a wife for the three of them to share.

But it isn’t an easy marriage – jealousy rears its ugly head as does shame, betrayal, and pride. There are injuries, a trial and lots of sex scenes!!

This is the first in a series called Duoterra. I am excited thinking of the possibilities you can have in a world like this – MM relationships, men fighting over the same woman, women working in brothels, widowed women expected to marry younger men, the women protesting becoming commodities…..

It is due out in various formats on Bookstrand on 21 June (available for pre-order now). It will then be available on Amazon in late July.

What are some of the difficulties of writing ménage?

The biggest problem was making the three heroes seem like separate people so that their personalities didn’t merge into each other. In this one Adam, the eldest brother, is responsible and brooding. Curt is cocky and impatient. Eric is the peacemaker between his two elder brothers and easy going. The obvious trick is to make them different physically (one blond, one dark, one light brown haired and so on) and it is important to make sure their names don’t sound alike – I read a book once where the heroes both had names both beginning with T and it was hard going to remember which one was which. Another ploy is to make sure they use different terms of endearment for the heroine and/or have different habits.

What’s the strangest (bravest, funniest etc) thing you’ve ever done?

I actually have more in common with the heroine of Duoterra 2 as she is an older woman, than I do Brianna. For my 50th birthday I had some erotic/nude photos to prove I could still be sexy and desirable despite middle-aged body issues. They look fabulous, even if I say so myself! I would advise every woman to have them done – it is very liberating. (I suspect, Emily, the heroine of Duoterra 2 would do something similar in the same circumstances, but alas, no photography on Duoterra!)

What are you currently working on, or what’s on the horizon?

I am doing my first paranormal story which is a collaboration with Finnish writer, Susan Laine This is another ménage relationship, but MMF this time and draws on our mutual European roots as you don’t often see contemporary werewolf stories set in European. It is called The Last Werewolf and the heroine is English who thinks she is the last werewolf of the title. When Summer discovers her late mother was Finnish she goes off to Finland so see if she has any relatives and meets the two heroes, Leevi and Rik, who have had a relationship previously but both are drawn to Summer. However, before they can take this any further she is kidnapped by an extremist branch of werewolves. Are the heroes also werewolf – ah, well, you’ll have to wait and find out.

Monday's Daydream!

Most of my writing comes from daydreaming. It plays like a movie in my mind. Sometimes characters will start talking when I'm trying to go to sleep at night. Picture me rolling over saying...now??? You really want to do this now??? It's one in the freakin' morning...I need sleep too! Can't this wait? I know you have control over this scene...but really...you want to do this now??? It was my character, Cav, being so vocal. He's dominant and he didn't like it when the hero put him in his place.

Despite my annoyance, I love it when characters are so vocal. It means I'm doing something right. When I go through edits, I worry over every little word and action my hero and heroine are involved in. It's difficult for me to let my work go. Eventually, you have to...there is that deadline that looms ahead.

Hot & Humid comes out June 26th and should be available for pre-order soon! I'm really excited!

Sunday's Farm Report!

The first novel I read and fell in love with was The Night Swimmers by Betsy Byars. I read it over summer vacation between third and fourth grade. I picked it out at the library, and I was immediately hooked on reading. I remember finishing it and being completely sad...as though I was letting something special go. I still feel that way when I finish writing a novel.

It was after The Night Swimmers, that I had to read anything I could get my hands on. I couldn't always get to the library. So, it was what I could find in our house. So, I read Of Mice and Men next. Don't ask me how much I was actually comprehending? A Brave New World was one of my favorites too. It turns out my father was an avid reader. It wasn't long before I was finding all sorts of his adventure books to read in our house. I truly believe he passed his love of reading to me.

Happy Father's Day Dad! I miss you!

Fabulous Friday!

Yesterday was my birthday. My hubby got up early and made me cupcakes before he went to work. That was the sweetest! With so many birthday wishes, I spent most of the day responding on Facebook. Thank you to everyone who sent me a wish!

Yesterday, was a really productive day for writing and editing. I finished edits on Hot & Humid, due out June 26th. I'll do one last read through today before I send it out.

Wednesday's Word of the Day!

Envy...

I think of envy as wanting of something that someone else has. My characters often go through a trying time and experience envy and jealousy in some form. They work through their feelings to ultimately fall in love. Their love must be tested early on. I've heard it described as one step forward, two steps back. My hero and heroine dance closer and then apart. They fall in love with a little help and live happily ever after.

Monday's Daydream!

When I write, all I think about is my hero and heroine's romance. As a erotic romance writer, the romance part of the story has to be 70% of the storyline. There also has to be a strong plot and the hero and heroine must be noble and honest. I try to write heros that are flawed, loving, and complicated. They have to struggle to find their path and their love for each other. Today, I'm providing a link to my friend's blog. We've been discussing the differences between erotic romance and erotica. Swing by Jen's blog to read about those differences.

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

I often tempt my characters...I imagine them having a good and bad angel popping up on their shoulders when they're at a juncture in their lives. I had a long conversation with a good friend late last night about the impact even the smallest decisions have on our lives. Most times it seems like it all starts with a choice...we go left or right...we do this or that...then the chips fall. Taking a risk or that first leap seems to be the hardest part of all...

Fabulous Friday!

The last time I started this post, the phone rang...if you know me, you know that I don't like it when the phone rings. It's like a record scratching for me when I'm trying to work. Don't get me wrong, I love it when my friends call! :o) I love to chat.

So off I went and answered...I spent almost two hours sorting out a mess. Four phone calls (plus 2 emails) later, its still not fixed. The ironic part was that I didn't know there was a mess to fix! Long story short it was regarding medical insurance for my three children with a rare autoimmune disorder. It's never simple...is it?

I was a writer long before my boys were diagnosed with their chronic illnesses, but once they were diagnosed I needed something for me. I needed something other than dealing with their medical issues, which can be a full-time job if I allow it to be. It's easy to lose yourself...

So, I write for them...for all that they will become and are meant to be...I write for me because I am called to...I write because it's an amazing feeling to see my work come to life after all the long hours I put into writing, editing, and re-writing.

My next novel Hot & Humid is due to be released June 26th!

Wednesday's Word of the Day!

Erotic...

My writing is considered erotic which is different than erotica. My writing leaves little to nothing to the imagination. My characters only have eyes for each other and have been waiting forever to find the love of their lives. Another writer and I have been chatting about the differences between erotic and erotica writing, and she'll be posting on Monday on her blog about those differences. I'll have a link to her blog on Monday. :o)

Temptation Tuesday!

Today my heroine is going to be tempted by the hero. Of course, she's not going to know he's the hero...she's going to think he's a stalker. I'm obsessed with my characters first meeting. I suppose it's because an agent once told me that it's your only chance to hook a reader, so you have to make it great!

Monday Daydreams!

When I start a new project, I spend a lot of time daydreaming. It's the first page that I have to have perfect before I can get going on a new novel. What is my heroine doing and why is she there doing it? Today, I'm going to do a lot of day dreaming as I hammer out my first chapter of my novel. It really is hard work finding inspiration and dealing with my over active imagination!

My heroine works in a museum...

Sunday's Farm Report!

Yesterday I got to meet one of my all time favorite authors, Cheryl Brooks. I missed the registration deadline for Lori Foster's Author/Reader Get Together, but I was able to go to the public signing. Cheryl's advice pushed me in the right direction which led to my first work being sold! Her best advice was to never give up. I was glad I listened. :o)
This is me with Cheryl and the new love of my life, Willy. I was really excited to find out he was mechanical.
This is one of my besties who loves to read romance. Mel attended the event with me.
This is me with cover model, Scott Nova. He was very nice! His tattoos were nice too!
This is me with author Sherrilyn Kenyon. She was so friendly! I met lots of other authors and everyone was so approachable! I had a great time!

Fabulous Friday!

Today is the last day of school for my boys. I'm picking them up early. Next year will be so different. I'll have all three in school. My youngest is starting K. That means more time to write! Whoot-whoot!
