Monday's Daydreams!

This holiday has been a lot of fun. We've been visiting family and celebrating late into the night. I've also been secretly plotting my new books to come out in 2013. I can honesty say with four boys in the house, I haven't gotten a lot done. I've had fun taking extra time to play games with the boys and just enjoying having everyone home. Today, we're making a rice krispie train and we'll be decoratng it with icing and candy. :o)

It's been six months since I started my writing journey with Siren Publishing. I'm super excited to see what my adventures for 2013 will be like! I've learned so much about my writing. I've appreciated all the feedback and those who have taken time to write a review of my work. Knowing what my readers like and what they want more of will only help me to become a better writer! So, don't give up on me yet! Diamonds are not formed over night. :)

I hope everyone has a safe, fun, and exciting 2013! May all your wildest dreams come true!

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I've been mostly hanging with the family and playing games over this holiday with them. It's been a ton of fun. I've been working on writing here and there too. :)

Training TJ comes out the end of January! Here's the back cover! Enjoy!

Late one night, SWAT negotiator TJ Raines and SWAT doc Parker Woods stumble upon a jumper on a bridge. With no time to wait, TJ knows he must act quickly. He never expects to have to save his best friend’s life too. With lives on the line, TJ knows he’s been given a second chance to have Parker as his Dom.

Parker knows something is up with TJ and it has nothing to do with the near miss on the bridge. Distracted by the undercurrent of want as they train together, Parker forces the situation out into the open. Parker longs to have TJ as his sub, but knows he must convince TJ he’s the right Dom to teach him what it means to be a sub.

Afraid to open his heart, TJ gives Parker his body to dominate. TJ knows he can trust Parker with his body, but can he trust him with his heart too?

Merry Happy Holidays!

I can't believe that tomorrow is Christmas eve! It has snuck up on all of us around here. I'm so glad that my hubby went out to do most of the shopping on black Friday! That meant I only had to do little things here and there. I love buying the stocking stuffers. That's my favorite.

Merry Christmas to you! Thank you so much for reading my work and following me on my blog. I feel so lucky to share my work with you. :o)

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

I'm an auntie again! I went to the hospital with my sister-in-law, Emma, today to meet my new niece. It was a lot of fun. Emma and I went to lunch afterward and spent hours catching up. We chatted about everything ... love, life, writing, family, and of course the new baby!

Here's a pic of all of us at the hospital today. We gave the baby a stuffed whale. I think she loved it.

We whispered lots of sweet things in the baby's ear. Of course, one being that we would spoil her rotten!

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I'm working on my frist round of edits for Training TJ. I hope to have my first read through finished by tomorrow. I love doing edits. I enjoy reading the feedback my editor gives me and seeing where I can improve the story. :)

Today, my little guy is sick. I'm hoping he feels better by Christmas. It's no fun to be sick for the holidays.

Enjoy your Thursday!

Wednesday's Word of the Day!

Busy...

Everyone is so busy this time of year. It's nice to take the time to catch up with friends and family. The count down to Christmas began six months ago in our house. The boys are really excited. Last night, I finished all my Christmas shopping with one of my besties. We had dinner and then hit the shops. We got everything done in about three hours. :)

Today, I'm working on my WIP. I also need to work on my edits for Training TJ. Those are due back January 7th. There is so much to do, but I'm loving all of it.

Monday's Daydreams!

It's a rainy day here in Cincinnati. The temp is going to be 57 degrees. I love warm, rainy weather. It makes me want to curl up with coffee, a book, or my laptop. Today, I'll be working on my cover questionnaire for Training TJ. I'll also be working on my new work in progress. I have so many things I want to get done before the end of the year! There's never enough time.

Have a great Monday!

Sunday's Farm Report!

I've been hiding in my writing cave all weekend. I've been spending extra time with my family too. My boys are back at school this week for three days. It's hard to let them go when you want to hold tight to them.

Thursday's Balancing Act

The final days before Christmas are always so busy. This weekend there are four birthdays we are celebrating, and my sister is graduating from university. It is impossible to find graduation cards in December. I had my pick of two. I also bought my Christmas cards. I'll have my five year old work on those tonight. I do need a little help if I'm going to reach all my deadlines!

Training TJ is set to come out at the end of January! Woot!

Have a great rest of the week!

Temptation Tuesday & Contest Fun!

Distraction is a temptation of mine. I love to work on lots of things and have to mentally hit myself over the head to keep on track. I have to give myself deadlines to meet. I've met one of my end of the year deadlines on a submission. I have one more to go. Not to mention, there are Christmas cards and presents to still be mailed and of course, I have lots more shopping to do!

Like I mentioned, distraction is a temptation of mine. I better get back to my WIP. I have one more deadline to make before I can get the Christmas cards done! Maybe, I'll have my boys write them all out this year! I'm sure nothing could go wrong with my five year old doing the job!

What's your temptation? Leave a comment and email address for a chance to win one of my e-books of your choosing!

The winner will be posted tomorrow!

Have a great day!

Monday's Daydreams!

My second training book is coming along nicely. Ryan is in love with a friend he's known casually for about five years. He couldn't get up the courage to ask his friend out. He's been burned in the past. Fate has other plans for them when work throws them together for the weekend. All I can say is that, Ryan is having a hard time keeping his hands to himself! They both are! :o)

The training series is a new M/M series that has BDSM themes. Have a great Monday!

Sunday's Farm Report

I have more shopping to do for my family. I can't believe that December is flying by. If I don't get to the store, all the stockings are going to be empty on Christmas! My sister and I are participating in a bad sweater exchange. My hubby is in charge of buying the sweaters as he has an eye for fashion! He really does. I'm the one that can't put anything but jeans and a T-shirt together.

Have a great week!

Thursday's Balancing Act!

My Christmas tree is up. The stockings are hung. St. Nick came by last night. My second book in my training series is coming along nicely. I should kick back with a cup of coffee and enjoy a nice evening. I'm going to zumba class tonight instead. The life of a writer can be isolating. It's important to get out and have fun and meet new people, even if you're sweating your ass off while you do it!

All week, I balance writing, children, laundry, family time, and all the other little details of life. Tonight, I'm doing something for me!

Have a great Thursday!

The Nex Big Thing!

Today, I'm participating in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop!

The Next Big Thing:

What is the working title of your book?

A. Training TJ. It's the first book in a series that revolves around my main character training for his black belt. Each book will follow some form of military or personal training.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

A. I love the idea of personal and professional enrichment. So, TJ just so happens to fall in love with his best friend as he's training.

What genre does your book fall under?

A. Contemporary, Classic M/M romance.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

A. Training TJ has been submitted to a publisher for representation. I'm in the submission process right now. :)

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

A. I had the idea for several months, but it wasn't until recently that I had time to write the story. So, a few weeks once I started writing.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

A. One of my favorite authors, Susan Laine, has been an inspiration to my writing! I love her work. She is an inspiration, a friend, and usually gets a sneak peek of my work! :o)

Monday's Daydreams!

I never imagined what life would be like as a full-time author. I really didn't know. I've always just written non-stop. I finish a story and then I go on to write the next. It all started after my first son was born. I needed something to keep my mind active while I was at home with him. He napped. I needed to write.

So, life as a writer for me is finding little moments throughout the day to write while I balance family life. That's what writing full-time for me is and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Have a great Monday!

There's a spot in the living room of my 100 year old cape cod that allows me to watch the moon rise on a clear night. Our oak tree obstructs the view, but with the leaves all fallen you get to see this.

Thursday's Balancing Act!

My grandmother's favorite quote has been bouncing around in my head the last few days. She used to say, "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips." Oh, boy does that quote have a different meaning to a romance writer! ;)

Temptation Tuesday!

I write or work on book ideas every day. I wake up thinking about characters. I go to sleep thinking about them. They whisper in my ear as I go through my day. I try to figure out how to make my stories better and how to make them more interesting. I was tempted this morning to take a week off. What would I do? Laundry? Housework? Shopping? Call friends? I do that as I work.

Today, I think I'll go where the voices go. That sounds like fun for today. Take a week off? No way. I'd rather be writing.

Have a great Tuesday!

Monday's Daydreams!

Today, my head is in the clouds. I'm opening up a WIP I started two months ago. I'm going to read through things before I get started on it again. This is book two of my Enslaved & Enticed series. Each book follows a cursed object that makes the holder of the object murderous.

Until this one sees the light of day, enjoy book one, Stolen Moment [Enslaved & Enticed].

Sunday's Farm Report!

We had family over yesterday for our second Thanksgiving. Of course, we had bad movie night too. We watched the Skeleton Key. I am terrified of scary movies, but this one wasn't too bad. I had a few moments of hiding my eyes and leaving the room, but overall I really liked Kate Hudson in the moive. :)

I finished up edits on TJ's story yesterday. I'm submitting it to the publisher today. Wish me luck!

Wednesday's Word of the Day!

Thankful...

I am so thankful for my family. Despite my three children having a chronic illness, all three are stable right now. I am thankful for that. I'm thankful too for my father's sense of humor that he passed on to me. I miss him so much, but I hear his laughter when I'm laughing. I'm so thankful for my hubby who supports me when he knows I'd rather bang my head against my desk. I'm also thankful for great friends I've made over this past year. I'm thankful for all the little moments I have every day to spend with my children, my friends, and all my family.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I have two deadlines to make by the end of the year. Of course, they are self imposed. I have to give myself a deadline when working or I'll take forever to finish a novel. Monday's Daydreams!

I'm back. Our weekend away was just what we needed to recharge. We got to the cabin just in time to see a meteor shower. We're slowly getting back to normal life. It's was nice to slow down and get to know my hubby all over again. It was nice to be unplugged too. I let my mind go and the story ideas started to whisper. It was so quiet, I actually heard them and listened!

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I balance my writing life with my home life and my friendships. I've always had great support of my work from "friends" until recently. I've never had so many negative comments about a book people have not bothered to read. Misconceptions, misunderstandings, and ignorance do not make good arguments for hurt feelings. Unfortunately, for some they do, and I understand that some things can't be fixed. You can't change someone else's beliefs and that's not my job.

I will never apologize for my success or for the fact that I love to write M/F and M/M fiction. My work is a safe place for people of all genders and sexual orientations who love to read to get away.

Monday's Daydreams & Tuesday's WIP Nightmares!

My WIP is too dark. I'm cutting out a plot line that isn't necessary to the story. I got the cringe from the hubby yesterday when I told him about what I was working on. His reaction was classic. "You've been working on that this entire time?"

So, it needs some editing today. I'll be cutting words out of my story and dropping them onto the floor. I hope they won't find their way back into this story. I'm not sure if I can blame my muse for this one. I thought it was a good idea when I wrote this particualr plot line in. Live and learn, eh?

Have a great Tuesday! I'm going to the salon to my hair cut and then I'm back to work!

I write about love. I'm not perfect and neither are my characters. I'm flawed just as much as they are. My characters work to overcome their imperfections, but at the end of the day they are who they are. I write to tell their story. I hope you enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoy writing it.

The time change has messed up my sleeping schedule. I was up until 1:30 this morning writing, watching bad T.V. and playing around on the Internet. I've been unplugged for the last two days. Friday, we had the rehearsal and dinner for my cousin's wedding. Saturday, we had the wedding and reception. It was a really busy two days. Between the wedding and reception on Saturday, I went out with my cousin Laine. We went shopping and had fun catching up. The reception was a formal sit down dinner of ribs, chicken, and pork chops. I had the ribs and chicken. It was really good. My oldest, E-man, was involved in the wedding as a server. He did a great job! I'm so happy for life to get back to business as usual! High Heat is burning up my inbox. It's ready to fly home to the publisher. I've been bad and holding on to it until deadline. I have the hardest time letting my work go. Just one more day...

In other news, the fashion police went into my closet today. Apparently, an anonymous tip was called in. You would not believe what was found! I really don't need to hold on to two pairs of witch tights that I'll only wear once a year. After the clean out, I only had one drawer filled. That was a bit of humble pie I wasn't expecting. I had the basics; jeans, cargos, T-shirts, pajamas, socks, etc...but not enough to get through the winter months. So, off to TJ Maxx I went. I found four shirts, a corduroy English blazer, and a really soft sweater.

The house is quiet with the family out rock climbing. I suppose I'll write for a little while. :)

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

My muse kept me up last night. I was up until two in the morning. I pulled out my notebook and just started listening. I jotted down everything I heard. I'm excited I have so much to do. :) I'll be sending a new paranormal M/F off next week to the publisher. I love this one.

Have a great weekend!

Fabulous Friday!

There are only twelve more days until my author friend, Jennifer Denys, lands on my doorstep. Jennifer is flying across the pond from York. So, that means I have only twelve days to finish Training TJ. God willing the creek don't rise, I'll be able to get it done. :)

Have a great Friday!

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I love listening to music when I work. It clears my mind and keeps me focused. Today, I'm just listening, feeling, and working. I'm taking my hero to the edge on page one today.

Wednesday's Word of The Day!

Final edits...

I love getting final edits. It's the moment right before your dream comes true. So, I'll be doing a final read through and sending them off to the publisher soon. I promised some pics from my field trip yesterday. So here you go!

This is the main farm building where our adventures began. It was a rainy day and it was just beautiful in the gloomy light.

The great outdoors were a little too stinky for my 5yo. His EoE gives him what we call super senses. The little things bug him.

All of us running out of the woods!

We stopped to watch a worm cross the path. It was a wonderful day! I had such a fun time with my little guy.

Temptation Tuesday!

I'm off today to go on a field trip with my youngest to a farm. We'll be walking through the muck. I had a moment last week where I thought I should buy new wellies. I didn't. Now, I'm regretting the decision. I'll be in my gym shoes...I just hope the rain holds off.

I love the little moments with my children. Even when things get messy. :o)

Sunday's Farm Report!

My big excitement for the weekend was seeing JR Ward on Saturday. My two besties, Kel and Mel came with me. Here are some pics from our day out. After the signing, we had the opportunity to speak with JR's personal assistant. She was super nice and had lots of great advice for a newbie like me! :o)

Mel and I being awesome!

Wednesday's Works In Progress!

I created a file for all the WIP I have bouncing around in my head. I have outlines for three stories and one is almost finished. That one needs to be polished up with an edit before I submit it to Siren. Most of my ideas whisper when they come to me the first time. Then things start to change when they start fighting over who gets to go first.

Really...

Today, one of my heroines is talking to me. She wants me to hurry up and get her story finished. She's a virgin and the most impatient of my characters right now.

Temptation Tuesday!

My nine year old thinks he can fly. He loves to climb the crown molding around my door frames. Yesterday, he decided to take a flying leap off the stairs and grab for the crown molding at the bottom. Insert, shocked scream when he discovers that the little edge didn't hold, and he went flying down to the ground. Yes, the molding snaped from the wall. I don't know if I should be shocked or proud that firstly, he was able to grab the half inch edge or secondly, that he always seems to land on his feet like a cat.

Last week, my nine year old also wrote a time travel story...I'm really hoping my boys don't want to be writers when they grow up! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get at least one firefighter-medic out of them.

Monday's Daydreams!

I had a story idea whisper to me this morning. I'm not sure where or when I'm going to find the time to write this one. I have so many ideas crowding my head these days. I'm sure I'll figure something out. :o)

Sunday's Farm Report!

I had a really fun day today. I was able to speak with fellow Siren authors, Susan Laine and Jennifer Denys via Skype. Jennifer will be coming to visit in October for four days. I'm really excited about meeting her in person. We've gotten to talk a lot via skype and email. It's going to be fun to show her around Cincinnati. Susan and I are also making plans to try to visit Jennifer next Summer in York. Before I can do any of this fun stuff, I really need to finish my edits for High Heat.

Coming Soon! My release date for High Heat is October 18th! This is Colin and Quinn's story. They first appeared in One Hot Night.

Fabulous Friday!

I had a dinner meeting with my bestie, Kelly, and my publicist, Melissa. Our waiter, James, will have a lead role in one of my new works. He was over six foot with dark hair shaved short and a voice to die for. He looked good in all black with his muscles stretching his shirt. We gave him lots of long looks as we fumbled over our menus. Yes, all thought left me as I was ordering my sides. It didn't help that we were all thinking of him with his shirt off, stretched across our table with some shots.

We chatted about James and lots of everything else as we ate. We didn't get to the work part until we were wrapping up for the night. That was fine with me. I needed the break. I've been editing for the last two weeks. Melissa gave me lots of ideas and work to do. That's her job as my publicist. I'm thinking she has earned a big bonus for Christmas.

Have a great weekend!

Monday's Daydreams!

Liar...liar...pants on fire.

My writing is often interupted when someone comes to the front door. Usually, it's a neighbor kid that wants to play with my kids. No big deal. Of course, there are those times when it's someone bringing me to Jesus. Today, it was a kid about 13. He was nervous as hell and twitching.

"I'm collecting for the Suburban Life for Kenny. He's out of town and he asked me to swing by to pick up the money," Twitchy says.

Yeah...right. I have this bridge I'd like to sell...

My response, "I'll pay Kenny when he comes back into town."

I shut the door and watched through the glass as twitchy runs down my front steps, across my driveway, darts across the street without looking, races down the block, and turns left where a friend is waiting for him.

For giggles, I called my neighbors on either side to ask if the "paper kid" tried to get their money for "Kenny." Nope. Just me. I thought about calling the local law, but that would be more time than I wanted to put into the entire ordeal.

Sunday's Farm Report!

Sometimes stories whisper and other times they shout at you for attention. Characters will tap on your shoulder when you're trying to edit. "Excuse me, I know you're busy right now, but I'm that hot cop you want to write about." I glance over at TJ...his shirt is off. He smells really good. His eyes grow heavy, but I know he doesn't have eyes for me. He's waiting for me to write his happily ever after with Parker.

Have a wonderful week! :D

Sinfully Sweet Saturday!

I ran out of Kleenx yesterday. My hubby went on a Kleenx run for me this morning. I noticed he started with the sniffles last night. Uh-oh. "It's just allergies," he said. Yeah, that's what I said when this entire process started four days ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him. I know how much this cold knocked me out of the game. I am feeling better today. I'm just feeling tired.

I'm almost finished with edits for High Heat. TJ's story is talking very loudly to me. I will be working on that today.

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I have a cold. I'm trying to shake it off. I don't want to be sick over the weekend. So, today I'm cuddling my pillows, two boxes of tissues, my coffee( I have to thank my hubby for making it for me! Thank you, babe! I love you for it!), my laptop, and a bottle of water.

Trust me, you don't want to be around me today! I may not even shower. :)

Where were you?

I was at home with my oldest son who just turned one when the attacks on the World Trade Center happened. I was feeding him when the second plane hit, and he saw it happen. He reached out his little hand toward the T.V. as though he understood that something terrible happened. I called my family that lived nearby, then packed up my things and drove to spend the day with them.

I will never forget.

Thursday's Balancing Act!

I started writing years ago for fun. I was workng as a social worker and taking care of my oldest son. Life changed with the addition of two more boys and the diagnoses of their autoimmune disorders. All three of my boys have it.

Writing became a lifeline for me. I needed a creative outlet that gave me something other than just dealing with medical stuff each day. Balance can be hard to find. You have to carve out time. You have to remember patience. There are times you need to pick one thing over another and be okay with the thing you gave up.

Trey Masters has secretly watched Rylie from afar for the last two years. He will stop at nothing to protect Rylie, even entrapping her with his abilities. All he needs to do now is keep her out of the game while his team acquires the pendant.

From the moment they meet they have an intense and otherworldly bond. Together, they must use their powers to destroy the pendant. Caught by the scars of the past year, Rylie knows she must trust Trey with her life. As the secrets Trey is keeping are revealed, will she trust the man she’s fallen hard for or run away?

A Siren Erotic Romance

ADULT EXCERPT: *Warning: Only For Those 18 or older!*

His mouth crushed over hers in a passionate kiss. She moaned as he used the cold cobblestone to hold her up. Trey’s hands came around to lift her legs around his waist. He smoothed his hands up her thighs and reached around to get a nice squeeze of her ass. Rylie twined her arms around his neck and kissed him fully. Her tongue slipped into his mouth and took control. He groaned.

A small part of her realized she was submitting to his touch and that burned. She was losing every part of her life she had control over.

He pulled his mouth away to nibble on her neck and scraped his teeth up over her earlobe. His heated breath whispered over her ear. “I’m going to make you mine.”

She shivered as his hand moved up her belly to squeeze her breast. He didn’t stop there. His hand stroked up the front of her neck, caressing her thrumming heartbeat. His thumb lifted her chin so that their eyes met. His lips brushed over hers, testing her boundaries. Her pussy clenched tightly. She wanted this and was frightened she would get it.

“Masters.”

“Fuck. I like it when you say my last name,” he growled.

She groaned as his cock pinned her to the wall, pushing her pussy lips open. He kissed her again. She could feel the throbbing beat of his cock as he worked her mouth over. Trey slid his hand down to the button on her jeans, flicking it open with an ease that spoke of experience. Her zipper flew south half a second later.

Rylie broke her mouth away as his hand smoothed over her satin bikinis. He rubbed fast circles over her clitoris, making it stand up and pulsate. She sucked in a harsh breath as his fingers pulled her panties aside and they were skin on skin. She wet his fingers as they dove between her lips in a gentle, erotic push.

He thumbed his way up over her nubbin, rolling it around with the pad of his thumb like a joystick. Rylie was getting close. She could feel her orgasm building to a frenzy. All of a sudden, Trey started to hold back. She was balanced on the edge.

“Open your eyes, Rylie. Look at me.”

Her eyes flew open and her nails dug into his rock hard shoulders. “Trey.”

“When was the last time a man got you off?”

Her foggy and sexed-up brain was slow to understand his question. “Um, you mean you don’t know? I thought you knew everything about me.”

“Answer me, Rylie. When was it?”

“College.”

He groaned. “Tell me you’ve been taking care of your sex.”

She chuckled, a deep, husky sound. “Wouldn’t you like to see that?”

“You have a sassy mouth when you’re aroused.”

“Do I?”

“Yes. Keep your eyes open. I want to see them dilate when you come.”

“You can’t make me.”

He stopped playing with her pussy to drive his point home. The loss of friction and more importantly, his kisses, made her realize how much she wanted Trey to touch her everywhere. She tried to move but he stopped her with a rough pinch to her ass that locked her body down tight to his. He licked and kissed his way down her neck and back up again. His eyes locked with hers.

“When we’re together, you’re mine. You’ll do everything and anything I want.”

He edged the knuckle of his forefinger up and locked her clit between his finger and thumb. She groaned as he emphasized his point by squeezing her clit. Pleasure exploded through her body. He rolled it tighter. Her core tightened and her pussy contracted hard.

“Eyes open,” he groaned.

His demand was an order she dared not refuse. Rylie cried out as her orgasm stole her breath away. She bit her lip as she held his gaze. The muscles in his face and body were flexed taut as he watched her go. There was something animalistic about the way he drank up every last drop of her reaction. The primal need to mate was a tribal beat vibrating between them.

Rylie squirmed, rocking her hips as he held her in his seductive grip, not releasing her clit at all. Her body wet more, causing his knuckles to slip back into her pussy.

Rylie was still riding the top note of her orgasm as he lifted her higher on his hips. He reached down with his other hand to pull the corners of her jeans aside as though he were opening a neatly wrapped gift. He reached in with both hands, grabbing the cotton band of her panties. She gasped as he gently tugged, slipping her panties into a reversed thong. He twisted the cotton into his fist while his fingers went exploring.

Sunday's Farm Report!

Today, we're going to a picnic and we will be gone all day. Did I tell you how I don't get very much writing done on the weekend?!? The weekends give my brain time to go wild and ideas start whispering. It also gives me time to connect with my family and nature. So much of my writing revolves around environment that I need to go for long walks for inspiration.

Have a great Sunday!

Everyone is at school...it is so quiet I can hear the cecedas outside, the thump, thump of Coco's bunny feet as he hops through my bedroom and office, and the little nibbles of CJ as he stores his hamster food in his wheel. This is going to take some getting use to.

Wednesday's Word of the Day!

Enticing...

My characters are often led into temptation by the very thing they are trying to avoid. It's usually the hero. He wants her and she is usually more interested in her goals. The hero gets in the way of what she wants. My heroine's eyes awaken quickly to see the man before her, and she ultimately falls in love.

I fall in love each time I write a book. I hope you do too.

Story Excerpt

Rylie Sawyer wasn’t a thief, but she was about to become one.

Her heart hammered as she stared at the pendant through the downtown store window. She was the archeologist that unearthed it in Jordan a year ago. The window vibrated as though it were alive. Rylie reached out and smoothed her fingers across the silky, wet glass. A shiver whispered across Rylie’s chilled skin. She smoothed the wetness between her fingers. It felt like her honey spreading over a man’s cock.

The sound of Cincinnati’s evening commute faded to a low rumble in the background. You’re mine. The ruby’s deadly power to seduce was its charm, its envy. Even now, Rylie could feel the undercurrent taunt her closer. The force was so strong it had her opening the door to the high-end jewelry store.
Warmth blew down from the heating vent.

Everything came into sharp focus. She remembered the first time she put the pendant on. She had an orgasm as soon as the stone settled between the nook between her breasts.

She licked her lips nervously as her nipples tightened into aroused, sensitive peaks from the memory. She was going to steal it tonight.A shot of adrenaline pumped through her body. Rylie’s light-blue irises caressed the bloodred ruby pendant. Light caught the sparkling gem and danced. Diamonds circled the ruby and flounced romantically up the chain.

It was a mistake to go inside before a robbery. She’d be captured on their surveillance cameras. A worker took the pendant from the locked case and brought it to a private table for a couple to see.

Rylie took two steps toward that table before she stopped short. Fear raced over her skin. They were going to buy it before she had a chance to take it. Fuck me.

Darkness clung to the piece. The piece wanted to find another victim. The curse was still alive, and it knew she was here. Its power to allure was an intoxicating, sexual rush like no other Rylie had ever experienced. Even knowing what it was, she wasn’t immune to the power it had.

She headed toward the case nearest the pendant. A flutter rippled over her skin as she moved. Rylie glanced over her shoulder and saw a man standing at the end of the case. He was watching her closely. Their gazes locked. Surprise filtered through his gaze before he shut it down.

Another shiver moved through her body. It was as though she knew him intimately and always had. Who was he?

He was gorgeous.

Wet, black hair curled around his ears and the nape of his neck. He was shockingly handsome. The kind of man that made her aware of her being a woman who hadn’t had sex in over a year. He was all alpha male and by the looks of things just over six foot tall. Perhaps he was even taller up close.

Rylie was suddenly aware, too, that she hadn’t bothered to put on any makeup when she ran out of the hotel this evening. She felt suddenly self-conscious of the fact that her jeans were on their second day and that her shirt was an out-of-season special. Her thin navy-and-polka-dot rain jacket wasn’t much to keep out the Autumn chill.

His smile was a wanted distraction, but not for long. The woman at the table started gushing over the pendant as it was draped around her neck.

“It’s perfect, Tom! I absolutely love it! I have to have it.”

“I don’t know.”

The woman frowned. “What do you mean, you don’t know? It’s amazing.”
The husband had a right to his trepidation. Sunlight glinted off the diamonds as though it were stealing the soul of the sun or the wearer. Rylie circled around the display case just as pain shot through her temple. Rylie flinched.

Fate wanted in again. Not now. Not when she was so close to putting a stop to the cursed thing before it took another life.

She winced. There was little time before she’d lose all control. She had to get out of there before the psychic event left her immobile and more importantly, vulnerable.

Rylie rushed out of the store and onto the Cincinnati sidewalk, tossing one last glance at the pendant. They were taking it to the register. The pendant was getting away again. Rylie groaned as pain shot through her head like a crack of a whip.

She stumbled down the alley, grabbing her head. Quiet enveloped her being. City traffic noises faded. Panic spiraled through her as her hearing went first. She had to get control of herself. She tried the deep breathing exercises her therapist suggested. They weren’t working. She cringed. White-hot fire seared her mind, leaving it sluggish and fogged. Oh, no. It was starting. There was nowhere to go.

Gravel mashed under her heels. Panic enveloped her as her vision went out. She fumbled as she ducked further into the alley. Two more steps and she wouldn’t be seen by anyone. Rylie made it one more before she collapsed to the ground.

Sunday's Farm Report!

Stolen Moment...

Snippet.

Rainwater had seeped into the fibers of his coat. Earth and winter clung to his skin. It reminded her of a time when she wasn’t always on the hunt for the pendant. He took a deep breath and mumbled an oath under his breath.

“You can’t do this alone. I’ve been hunting for cursed objects for a long time. It’s not safe to work alone. It makes you vulnerable.”

“I don’t need anyone.”

He slammed his hand against the wall, but she didn’t jump. She could feel every inch of his frustration. “Please come with me. We need to go someplace to talk.”

Up close, he was taller, more intense. She pushed away from him and he followed. “Not going to happen. Stay away from me.”

Plastic flapped in the wind, making it howl. Trey glanced toward it. It was enough of a distraction. She darted away from Trey, running deeper into the building. She didn’t make it far before he snagged her around the waist from behind. He pressed his lips to her ear. “Close your eyes and calm your breathing.”

Fabulous Friday!

I know you want another snippet of Stolen Moment[Enslaved & Enticed 1]. Here you go. Enjoy!

“You had another vision, didn’t you? What did you see?” he asked.
How did he know? “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not who you think I am. You’re confused.”
“I’m not.” He backed her further into a wing under construction. “I know how personal this is. The pendant killed your sister. Your family. It continues to seek you. I can help you. I can free you, Rylie.”
She shivered at the possibility of being free. How did he know so much? Who was this man? She had to get away from him. She backed away, but he merely advanced. He grabbed her by the shoulders, holding her against unfinished drywall.
She felt trapped.
“You can’t do this alone anymore,” Trey said.
“Stop it!”

Stolen Moment coming soon! :o)

Happy Friday!

Temptation Tuesday!

Reading romance is often like a sweet indulgence. It's fun to get lost in the lives of two other people trying to figure it all out. I often take my hero and heroine to the edge before they realize that they're meant to be together. So, in celebration of Temptation Tuesday, I'm giving you a snippet of Stolen Moment, Enslaved & Enticed 1.

Snippet
His gaze dropped to her gray silk bra with little red roses arching over the top of the cups. Its simple everyday design was as erotic as black lace. He had to get control of his thoughts before they led him down a dark and dangerous path. That had him looking away and closing his eyes. Wrong move. The feel of skin on skin was becoming too much for him. Trey snapped open his eyes and looked down at Rylie.

He could feel her skin starting to warm. The blue tint to her lips was starting to turn a rosy pink again. Trey’s gaze dropped to the swell of her breasts and blood rushed south to his cock. His dick punched against his boxers like a prize fighter testing the waters with a competitor. Come back to me, Rylie. It’s okay. You’re safe. The pendant won’t hurt you ever again. I won’t let anything hurt you again.

Stolen Moment...out August 30th!

Monday's Daydreams!

Book ideas hit me out of nowhere. I'm often working on something, editing, researching or writing and another one starts whispering in my ear. Hello! I hear you sci-fi romance...I don't have time for you right now. Can you come back later? Maybe in a year. I have a ton on my plate at the moment.

The truth is, writers live in their head. For me, writing a book is putting a puzzle together throughout the day. Yes, I'll sit down and bang out 5,000 words, but the plot, the characters, and yes that very important research is often done away from the computer. Don't get me started on what I think about research. It is the most important tool I use when I'm writing. I cringe when writers gloss over a subject and don't do their research.

My research often takes me away. I'd rather talk to someone about medical procedure than try to google it. So much of my work is often spent on the laptop that it's nice to step away and listen to someone else talk about what they do for a living.

Fabulous Friday!

Editing can be an adventure. I'm enjoying the ride!

Enjoy a snippet of Stolen Moment!

Trey grabbed her by the wrists, and she struggled. “I can’t let you go. I won’t.”
He danced her back against the wall, slowly, seductively. Rylie felt her mouth go dry. “You’re not supposed to touch me.”
“I can’t help it. Maybe I like touching you. Maybe I want to touch you. Maybe you need me to touch you.”

Wednesday's Word of the Day!

Trust...

My heroines have a hard time trusting the hero in the beginning. Building trust takes time. I have to remember not to rush the relationship and give trust time to take root. In One Hot Night, Samantha no longer trusts men after an ex nearly kills her. Austin tears down her wall by coming on strong. Had he not, she probably would have run the other direction. He knew what she needed and showed her how to love again. I love it when my hero and heroine fall in love. It always surprises me that they are able to overcome so much to be together.

Have a great day! Go have fun! Afterall, it is hump day! :o)

Temptation Tuesday!

I'm teasing you with another snippet of Stolen Moment, Enslaved & Enticed 1. Enjoy!

Who was he?

End of Snippet!

My release date for Stolen Moment, Enslaved & Enticed 1 is August 30th! Until then, you can enjoy reading one of my other works, One Hot Night, Hot & Humid, or Rock Hard!

Monday's Daydreams!

Today, I thought I'd tease you with an upcoming snippet of Stolen Moment.

Stolen Moment, Enslaved & Enticed 1

Rylie Sawyer wasn’t a thief, but she was about to become one.

Her heart hammered as she stared at the pendant through the downtown store window. She was the archeologist that unearthed it in Jordan a year ago. The window vibrated as though it were alive. Rylie reached out and smoothed her fingers across the silky, wet glass. A shiver whispered across Rylie’s chilled skin. She smoothed the wetness between her fingers. It felt like her honey spreading over a man’s cock.

Fabulous Friday!

I'm so glad we're home from the hospital. My 9 year old had an upper endoscopy yesterday. They took biopsies to see how treatment is going for his eosinophilic disorder. Severe food allergies cause his entire esophagus to close. It is a genetic disorder, and he will never grow out of it. You can only treat it. Between all three of my boys, we do three to four scopes a year.

It's great to be home! Now, the only thing left to do is pick out a bravery gift for him. He wants an I-pod or a kindle fire. What to do...

Tomorrow, my nine year old has surgery on his esophagus. All three of my boys have an autoimmune disorder where severe food allergies cause their entire esophagus to close. So, we'll be at the hosptial all day tomorrow. I'll update later in the evening to let everyone know how things go. :o)

Release Day & Contest Fun!

Rock Hard is released today! For fun, I thought we'd play a new game. At times, I call friends and ask them, should I do A or B in a situation with my character?

Example: "Kelly, I have this slinky...I want to do this with." Of course, you need to give me detail to win!

The game will go like this.

Game: I have my heroine caught in a delicate situation. What should she do and use to get out of that situation?

The one that makes me laugh and most entertaining will win an e-copy of Rock Hard. In addition to the win, the "situation" will also have the chance to be in an upcoming book. A special thank you will be given to the winner in the dedication too!

So, make the situations good! Have fun! I expect fighting and hair pulling over this one! Leave entry in the comments section!
